A big, dark and red-fruited shiraz of substantial latent power with deep black cherry and red and dark plum fruits, plenty of deep spice, hints of baking spice, Cherry Ripe, coconutty oak, milk chocolate, roasting meats, purple flowers and earth. Some light tobacco leaf and leathery tones in there too, with fine, sandy tannins in support and a real chocolatey facet as it gracefully exits stage right.

The Ron Thorn Shiraz is made as a tribute to Cheryl Clarke's father, Ron. Ron was a quintessentially Australian bloke, hard-working, with a wry sense of humour and a strong belief of the difference between right and wrong.
Ron Thorn Shiraz is made from the best fruit and produced only in exceptional years, the wine is given the benefit of 20 months of barrel maturation and 6 months in bottle prior to release.
Deep red with purple tints. Rich and concentrated dark fruits, with charry oak and mocha notes dominate the nose. The palate shows dense plum and mulberry with dark chocolate and savoury oak tannins. The wine is intense, balanced and shows great length on the palate.
