Deep garnet. Undeniably Coonawarra with cassis and mint hints, but with rose heart, cigar tip, boysenberry ice cream and an incredible sense of completeness. Nothing jumps or shouts from the nose. It is a sum of all parts. Bright and complete from start to finish. Power without being forceful, graceful without being delicate or fragile. Oak seasons without overshadowing and Cabernet’s infamous “doughnut hole” is somehow filled with supple dark fruit. The tail is long with fine, elegant tannins that just scream drink me. All praise deserved, a fantastic expression of modern Coonawarra.
Beautifully weighted, elegant red that defines cabernet sauvignon with its blackcurrant, cedar, purity and power. Deliciously accessible now but with good cellaring potential. Very classy wine indeed 19 APR 2023 Drink 2023–2033

The Cigar 2019 is a lovely bright, fresh Coonawarra Cabernet. Vibrant, deep magenta in colour. The aromatics are rich with blue and black fruits, notes of spice and warm, comforting aromas of cedar, strawberry compote and sandalwood. The palate is expressive with blackcurrant, plum and clove spice, melding with dark chocolate and ripe fruits. The wine has a beautiful structure with fine tannins and balanced acidity ensuring longevity.
