Single-site shiraz with 20% whole bunches; aged 18 months in French oak (50% new). Deep crimson with a purple edge. Vibrant satsuma plum, macerated blackberries and black cherry cut through with a dusting of baking spices, violets, licorice, amaro, dark chocolate and earth. Meaty facets come in on the palate, which is expansive with fine, supportive tannin heft, a bright acid cadence and a savoury flick to its tail. Delicious now but will repay careful cellaring. Impressive stuff.

This old vine Shiraz is sourced from a single vineyard in the Lyndoch Ranges, in the south-west of the Barossa Valley. The fruit is fermented 20% whole bunch with the balance destemmed but not crushed. The wine is then hand plunged twice daily for three weeks before being pressed to French oak (50% new) hogsheads and aged on lees for 18 months before bottling without fining or filtration.
