Mid yellow, not much to the nose with a very pleasing well filled mid palate, crisp & fresh & long. An exemplary white burgundy, refreshing too.

The Clos de Chateau is an impressive 8 hectare monopole that is located in front of the Chateau, over 1/3 of the vineyard is within the Meursault appellation but they choose to keep this plot whole so therefore it reverts to Bourgogne classification. The wine is vinified in 25% new oak and the balance in 2 & 3 year old barrels for 12 months on fine lees.
Château de Meursault, whose history goes back one thousand years, produces the Clos du Château from two prime parcels located in front of the Château itself in Meursault. “Clos'', meaning “closed” refers to the walls surrounding the vineyard, and the proximity to the Château gives this wine its proprietary name. This Bourgogne Blanc, produced from well-drained gravelly soils, is vinified and aged as a Chardonnay coming from the greatest terroirs of the Domaine and with the same care as their Premiers and Grands Crus.
