The nose reflects quite a bit of lactic character though I would expect it to clean up before it's bottled. Otherwise, there is better vibrancy to the medium-bodied flavors that possess a caressing mid-palate that contrasts somewhat with the drier finish that is also lemon tinged.

Romain Collet, who runs this 40 ha domaine, commented that 2020 "was a huge surprise in the sense that the wines are so fresh and really quite classic in style given how hot and dry the majority of the growing season was. Whenever you have sunburned fruit it's frankly a challenge to imagine that you're going to have reasonable sugars and acidities yet that's what happened. We picked from the 28th of August and brought in clean fruit that just needed the burned berries to be eliminated. Yields were better than expected as well, coming in as they did between 45 and 50 hl/ha while potential alcohols were in the 12.5 to 13% range. Overall, I am very happy with the results because I really did not expect them!"
