Aromas of dust and plums with some stems come through clearly, followed by a medium body, round tannins and a creamy texture. There’s an orange aftertaste to the red fruits. Drink now.

Fire, fashion and fabulous Sicilian wine come together in this extraordinary collaboration between Donnafugata and Dolce & Gabbana. Cuordilava, meaning Heart of Lava, celebrates the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna, where ancient lava flows and dramatic altitude create some of Italy's most distinctive reds. Founded by the Rallo family in 1983, Donnafugata produces this elegant Nerello Mascalese led blend with a little Nerello Cappuccio, while Dolce & Gabbana's striking packaging pays tribute to the volcano's fiery personality.
Brilliant ruby red with delicate garnet reflections. Wild cherry, redcurrant and raspberry mingle with violet, blood orange, cinnamon and a suggestion of smoky volcanic earth. The 2020 vintage is beautifully poised, with fine tannins, lively acidity and a long, savoury mineral finish. Fragrant, refined and wonderfully expressive of Etna's remarkable terroir.
Delicious with grilled tuna and caponata, roasted quail with cherries, or handmade porcini ravioli with sage. A magnificent gift for lovers of exceptional Italian wine and design.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2035. Elegant and approachable, with the structure to develop greater savoury complexity.
