Selectiv' harvested 22yo vines (PT23 clone) ex a west-facing block; some whole-berry retention, 14 days on skins, matured for 18 months in French puncheons (30% new). A high-toned, intensely focused shiraz, the syrah soubriquet spot on. Black and blue berry fruits are moulded together with a splash of spice and peremptory tannins.

The ‘Hilltop’ Syrah is an exposé on the versatility of Shiraz as a variety. A wine that displays generous dark fruit up front is finished impeccably with tannin and a hint of pepper and spice. A perfectly balanced cool climate Syrah. Liquid elegance.
