2020 was a challenging year for everyone in the Napa Valley. Fruit quality varied due to the numerous factors impacting harvest; however, each lot of wine was meticulously tasted and analysed, ensuring no flaw s were present in the final bottled wines. Palermo is a solid representation of both the region and varietal. This iteration of Palermo is sourced from various microclimates in the Napa Valley such as the Rutherford, St. Helena, and Calistoga AVAs, just to name a few.
The wine sits in the glass with a dark mauve and crimson red rim. Classic and traditional Left Bank Bordeaux nose of ripe cassis, blackberry and assorted blue fruits with a t ouch of chapparal. The entry is robust with notes of blackberry pie, black cherry, and impressive weight. Soft tannins and a bright finish round out the wine with a lingering touch of orange peel.
