Mike Pertikin produced the first Semillon Sauvignon Blanc in Margaret River in 1979 when he was making wine for Kevin and Di Cullen. That wine was labelled Semillon Sauvignon Blanc and sold as such. Dr Peterkin never claimed any originality for the idea, he simply borrowed it from the French. What he did do was create a new style which emphasized aroma, freshness and fruit character. He believes that this was the first Semillon Sauvignon Blanc produced in Australia.
There’s been plenty of media attention paid to the quality and longevity of the PIERRO L.T.C. in the last couple of years – with James Halliday, Peter Bourne & John Fordham adding their voices in support of its quality. The ‘sold out’ sign seems to go up earlier each year as well.
50% Semillon, 45% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Chardonnay
This is concentrated and focused; completely balanced and refreshing. A stunning rendition of the LTC, the acidity is juicy and chewy. With the ability to age gracefully in the cellar, this is a cracker.

Pale lemon-yellow colour. Lemongrass, honeysuckle and fumé aromas. Bright and fresh on entry, acidity works in conjunction with a light phenolic crunch to bring light and lift across the entire palate. Citrus fruit and some smokymineral notes fill across the length and everything shows vivid concentration long into the finish.”
