This wine is sublimely nuanced. The nose displays a mix of blueberries, blackcurrants, brambles, plums and spices such as cloves and nutmeg. The palate pairs with similar fruits whilst also presenting a black tea coolness and mulberries. The structure is delicate with a dry, chalky tannin finish. A fine mouth-watering acid line adds to the structure. An elegant cool climate wine with length and persistence.
The fruit is grown on the Scorpo family vineyard. The Shiraz grapes (SA2626) were handpicked on 30th April. 100% whole bunch-fermented with natural yeast in a two-tonne vessel. The wine was pressed out on 2nd June to mature in one 1-year-old barrel with the remainder 4 years and older. Suitable for vegans.
