This light and fresh Pinot Noir offers aromas of cranberry and ripe sour cherry that burst out of the bottle. As the wine opens, it discloses notes of dried leaf, herbs and fresh earth. Vibrant on the palate, it has solid core of ripe red fruits that dances rather than weighing you down, making this a fun and easy red.

It is the wine you do not expect. I discovered a Pinot Nero vineyard implanted in 1990 in an excellently suited area endowed with a great heritage. Curiosity compelled me to make wine from it to understand its potentiality and, two years later, I started the business despite not having my own cellar, producing wine at my friend’s company, in Barolo. Pinot Nero follows a difficult and sensitive path in the vineyard, which becomes complex and unpredictable in the cellar.
The ability to do nothing, rather than to do too much, the patience to wait, and the uncertainty dictated by an unpredictable wine. There are no recipes, nor short or lengthy maceration. The approach changes every single year, focusing on fruit that changes every single harvest. I exclusively rely on my taste and instinct, from the grapes to the bottle. To date, Langhe DOC Pinot Nero can count on 2 vineyards: the “long established” one located between Barolo and Novello, and the new one (2013) in the small village of Santa Lucia in Dogliani.
