I remember this blend of cabernet sauvignon, malbec, cabernet franc and merlot being quite the hit in the geeky US wine forums in the early 2000s for its bright, fruit-forward lines and light impact on American wallets. It's still a great value drink, packed with ripe black and dark berry fruits, spice, earth, herbs, licorice and chocolate. There's structure there, too, in the form of chewy, sinewy tannin and bright acidity. Plush with blackberry and blackcurrant fruit on the exit.

From the multi-award winning Thorn-Clarke stable comes this monster red with a multitude of flavours that fuse together flawlessly. It’s a melting pot of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, petit verdot and merlot, each bringing a unique flavour profile to the table. The result is an explosive mix of blackcurrant, mulberry, sweet ripe cherries, cloves and dusty dried herbs with an oak chaser. It’s juicy and well-balanced with just the right amount of tannin. Perfect for hearty winter dishes.
