A small bottling of the original pinot noir vines planted in 1969. Fully destemmed with some stalks added back to the 600kg fermenters. Matured 10 months in French oak, 40% new. A medium-deep crimson purple. Focussed with strawberries and other red fruits, along with a little spice from the well-handled oak. On the palate this has real power and density, with a core of sweet, darker fruits and savoury, ripe and long tannins. A serious wine built for the long haul.

Bright crimson. Primary cherry fruit lift and pretty violets. Highly aromatic with some oak adding vanilla and spice. An elegant and silky fruit profile, cherry-soft, the palate is silky, seamless and expansive. Some graphite and oak spice bring structure to the finish.
