2021 Anselmi Capitel Croce IGT, Veneto

Light bright yellow hue with a smoky reductive bouquet, a rich and full-flavoured dry white that has heaps of personality. Cooked and dried fruit flavours galore. There's a nice touch of grip on the aftertaste that dries it off beautifully. This would be a great food wine for a hot fish entrée.

The 2021 Bianco Capitel Croce opens slowly in the glass, as hints of green citrus and dusty dried flowers give way to freshly sliced apricot and nuances of ginger. It's silky in texture with ripe orchard fruits and mineral tones that build with each passing second. The 2021 finishes with medium length, leaving young peach and inner florals to mingle.

This Estate wine comes from ten acres of low-yield, densely planted vines at the top of Zoppega Hill near the Croce shrine in the Monteforte area.

The Anselmi Capitel Croce (100% Garganega) is a complex and persistent white wine with rich, creamy fruit flavours. The use of oak adds a subtle and agreeable spiciness to the wine. The brilliant gold with a bright amber hue complements the fresh, fruit-forward aroma guided by hints of peach, apple, cream and spring flowers. Pair this wine with veal, pork, pâté, goat cheese and spicy food.
