Oak adds coffee and cedar notes, arguably a little too keenly, but this will settle in time and in any case, the fruit flavours here are pretty gorgeous. Boysenberry and redcurrant flavours come infused with florals, the aftertaste adding tonic-like herb and twig notes. It's plush up front, savoury through the finish, almost like a reverse mullet. The net effect is that it's lovely to drink.
