Apricot juice and white peach in the primary profile. Genuine and pleasant with hints of cherries and lemon peel. Medium to full bodied on the palate, well smoothed tannins ad a precise finish of pleasurable length. Drink now or hold.

Radiant, bright ruby red. A bit restrained on the nose, initially showing slightly stony-earthy tones, then cranberries. A juicy, pithy entry on the palate, polished and compact, with an earthy finish.

95% Sangioveto, 5% Canaiolo
Castellare di Castellina does not follow fashion. While many Chianti wineries have lost touch with their Tuscan roots and experimented with blending French varieties and local grapes over the past few decades, the wine made at Castellare keeps a strong commitment to the traditional Tuscan variety of Sangioveto, the original local name for Sangiovese.
Aromas and flavours of cherries, plums, spices, tobacco and licorice. On the palate, it shows both firm structure and refreshing acidity, making it a very versatile food wine. The finish is energetic and minerally.
