2021 Ch Beaumont, Haut-Medoc

The 2021 Beaumont is a deep punchy Haut-medoc. A blast of dried herbs charred earth spice leather and tobacco hits the palate as is pleasantly rustic wine shows off its considerable personality. The 2021 could be quite good if it comes together with elevage.

Green peppers, fragrant red cherries and dark chocolate on the nose. More brightly red-fruited on the palate, this has a real delicacy to it, just staying short of being diluted, but the acidity is there and the fruit is delicate and calm with a creamy edge to the tannins giving a gentle feel overall. It also has a perfumed undertone that stays on the palate from start to finish. Soft and charming in a very subtle way. Ageing should give this a bit more depth and density, but I love the refinement and the cool, persistent finish. Tasted three times.
