The Clos des Ruelles is a 2.53-hectare monopole of the domaine located at a lower elevation in the hamlet of Saint Martin de Montaigu at the southern extremity of the appellation. The wine has a blackberry fruit aroma with earth, bramble, and menthol notes. The texture is supple yet firmly tannic, with a velvety, lingering finish. The grapes are partially destemmed before fermentation with a modest percentage of whole clusters. The wine is ageing now in cask (30% new) and shows good cellaring potential.
