The premier cru Clos du Roi from Château de Chamirey displays a fragrant blackberry fruit with pronounced floral notes. The texture is more substantial than others in this cellar, with firm tannins and abundant extract. The acidity is fresh but does not stand out since it is balanced with the extract. The grapes come from four parcels totaling three hectares. Each parcel is grown and vinified separately, and the final wines are blended to produce this very successful wine that should drink well in a few years and age at least a decade after that.

Brilliant garnet-red colour. The nose shows nice fresh red fruit aromas of cherry and Morello cherry, supported by spicy notes of clove and pepper. Great intensity in the mouth, balanced with freshness. The finish is long with a salty touch.
