Half Bottle 375ml
Based on Grenache Blanc and Picpoul, the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc has impressive aromatics of pear, honeyed apples, and chalky minerality to go with a medium-bodied, crisp, vibrant style on the palate. It’s not massive or concentrated, but it’s flawlessly balanced and has bright acidity as well as a great finish. Drink bottles over the coming year or three.

Pale yellow robe. Aniseed, salting feature in a low profile bouquet, which is airborne more than de la terre, a touch escapist. The palate gives a linear, straight, clear fruited stream of mixed white fruits, is orderly, not captivating. Dried fruits, a note of toffee appear on the close. I would wait, leave this until around 2025+, so it can show more character and variety, and, hopefully, more southern depth, its place of origin more stated by then. 13.5°. Bottled June 2022. 2036-38 Nov 2022

Château Mont-Redon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc is an elegant and complex white wine that beautifully reflects the heritage and terroir of one of the Rhône Valley’s most prestigious appellations. Château Mont-Redon, founded in 1344, is one of the oldest estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and has long been regarded as a benchmark producer. This white blend is crafted primarily from Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussanne, and Bourboulenc, sourced from Mont-Redon’s limestone-rich soils, which impart freshness and minerality.
Pale gold in color with brilliant clarity, the nose reveals enticing aromas of white peach, pear, and citrus blossom, layered with hints of honeysuckle, almond, and wet stone. On the palate, it is rich yet finely balanced, with flavors of ripe stone fruit, lemon zest, and subtle tropical notes. A creamy texture from partial aging on lees is beautifully offset by vibrant acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish with lingering notes of citrus peel and toasted nuts.
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc pairs exceptionally well with seared scallops, grilled lobster, or roasted chicken with herbs. Its depth and complexity also make it an excellent match for truffle risotto, creamy pasta dishes, and soft cheeses such as Brie or triple-cream Camembert. While enjoyable young for its freshness and vibrant fruit, this wine has the potential to evolve over the next 8–10 years, developing richer textures and nutty nuances.
Château Mont-Redon’s dedication to traditional winemaking and respect for terroir have earned this white wine critical acclaim, standing as one of the finest expressions of Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc.
