2021 Domaine Collotte Gevrey Chambertin Cote de Nuits, Burgundy

This is another estate benefitting from a jump in quality as the younger generation takes charge with Isabelle Collotte now in charge of the winemaking at this well established estate just north of Gevrey Chambertin. The Gevrey Chambertin vineyards are located in Les Evocelles and En Champs, both of which border directly on to premier cru sites. The Chambolle Musigny vineyards of the Collotte family come from several plots below the village where there is more clay giving a wine of remarkable depth and richness. Value here is extraordinary.

From vines planted in 1955 located high up above the village on the combe in Les Evocelles and En Champs just below the 1er cru Champeaux vineyard. The wine shows lovely fine perfume and real finesse in the finely detailed tannins. Very attractive style and one of the best vintages yet of the Gevrey.
