2021 Els Vinyerons Saltamarti Tempranillo Garnacha Penedes, Catalunya

Saltamarti is a fresh and delicate wine with balanced astringency. Plum, currant, raspberry and balsamic aromas show. Saltamarti translates as "grasshopper". Els Vinyerons names their wines after insects as a tribute to the insects that inhabit the vineyards, as a symbol of a healthy and well-balanced ecosystem.90% Tempranillo and 10% Grenache. The fruit comes from vines growing in the well-draining sandy and limestone soils of a vineyard in heart of the Penedès.Harvesting the fruit by hand. Soft maceration and pressing, then alcoholic and malolactic fermentation occurs with wild yeasts. 90% of the grapes come from the vintage year and age for 4 months in stainless steel. 10% of the grapes come from the previous year and aged for over a year in French oak barrels of 300 litres. No sulfur added.
