It's honeyed and ripe, with notes of brown sugar and molasses, dates and golden raisins. It's sweet and velvety, young and tasty, without great complexity but really pleasant and moreish. 2,406 bottles and 1,932 half bottles were filled in 2023.

Equipo Navazos has bottled the Pedro Ximénez Casa del Inca from the 2005 vintage. Casa del Inca, located in Montilla, is the former residence of Inca Garcilaso de la Vega (1539 to 1616), where he wrote much of his literary work. Following its restoration, the building is now linked to the city's winemaking tradition. Harvesting fully ripe grapes, exposing them to the late-summer sun (with the clusters turned periodically), and carefully extracting the juice at varying pressures using powerful hydraulic presses are the keys to the must's initial quality. A second key factor is fortification with high-quality grape spirit. The third and final factor (specifically for vintage PX wines that do not undergo wood ageing) is time: a resting period of a year or more in the traditional conical vessels or large clay jars (tinajas) used in Montilla-Moriles for centuries. With the essential collaboration of Pérez Barquero, the expert team at Equipo Navazos has selected and blended this vintage PX 2021. As always, it is a supremely elegant and fresh sweet wine with surprising delicacy, complexity, and structure. Gorgeous!
