From a .80 ha holding; vinified with 25% whole clusters.
Once again there is a certain lack of freshness though not complexity to the more floral scented aromas of dark pinot fruit, spice and earth. The rich and solidly vibrant medium-bodied flavors possess excellent intensity while displaying fine length on the robust, powerful and lingering finish. This overtly mineral-driven effort is bold but not really rustic. I would further note that my projected range offers the benefit of the doubt that the nose will recover better freshness once it is in bottle.

Entirely destemmed with 80% new wood. Etienne finds this cuvée always in balance and with lots of tiny berries, concentrated and fresh, so need for any whole bunches. An exceptionally dense purple black. The bouquet indicates significant weight, ripe enough but neither hot nor heavy. Hard to pick up any refinement on the nose. The palate certainly does deliver an impressive weight of fruit, but also a slight coarseness in the tannins, maybe from the barrels. We are going to need to wait a long time for this. The acidity is a key point here. Drink from 2028-2032.’
