Medium deep crimson. Classical dark cherry, strawberry, hint negroni aromas with underlying vanilla/ marzipan notes. Beautifully focused pinot noir with fresh strawberry, dark cherry, marzipan flavours, fine slinky bittersweet textures, lovely mid-palate viscosity and fresh long indelible acidity. Lovely feathery plume at the finish. Very good tension, vinosity and freshness. A brilliant follow up vintage, to the 20 and 21.

Fragrant pinot noir with delicate floral, black cherry, nutty oak and subtle mixed spice flavours. Supple, elegant wine that defines the term 'subtle power'. It has an ethereal texture and impressively lengthy finish and shows great complexity with a peacock's tail-like display that reveals many flavours. Deliciously approachable now but shows good ageing potential 08 JUN 2023 Drink 2023–2035

The High Garden Vineyard has quickly become one of the most exciting sites for Pinot Noir in New Zealand. The high altitude site in the coolest sub region of Central Otago, Gibbston, receives more sunshine hours and higher temperatures of any vineyard in the area. It produces wines of profound intensity and tension as harmony is found in the balancing act of multiple extremes.
With Jen Parr, one of the world's greatest Pinot Noir winemakers, caring for the fruit in the winery alongside MW Robin Tedder overseeing the operation, each vintage this site has produced wines of power and finesse.
Speaking with Robin there is no doubt in his mind that the 2022 vintage is the finest that has been seen at the High Garden Vineyard. It was a vintage that brought with it ample light, heat and coupled with the typical cool temperatures of Gibbston this is a year that has allowed for this site to truly express it's full potential.
"The 2022 vintage demonstrates the potential of this distinguished vineyard site given the power and depth present in the wine, full of energy that goes on and on."

20% whole cluster. Extended maceration with 26 days on skins. 10 months in small French Oak, 30% new
A near-perfect growing season meant the vines were able to source enough water naturally, no frost pressure and ample sun and heat to ripen the fruit without compromising acidity. With lower than average bunch weight the resulting wine is powerful with density and levity aplenty.
20% of the fruit was fermented as whole cluster, 26 days on skins and then aged in 30% new French oak. This is a wine that is already making waves for its power and freshness. The aromatics are beguiling and evocative of bright red and black fruit, the oak and bunch character already enveloped by the incredible fruit characters supported by violets, rose petal and undergrowth character.
