The 2021 Pommard Village unfurls in the glass with aromas of sweet red berries, cherries, plums, peony and spices. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and pure, its satiny attack segues into an elegantly layered palate animated by bright acids, concluding with a saline finish. It attained 12.5% natural alcohol, something that can’t be taken for granted in a vintage like this for a cuvée that mostly derives from the cool, northeasterly exposures of the windy lieu-dit of Valmuriens.
