Marcarini Lasarin Nebbiolo Langhe DOC is a beautifully transparent expression of Nebbiolo that captures the perfume, tension and elegance of Piedmont without the weight or formality of Barolo. Sourced from Marcarini’s vineyards around La Morra, this wine is rooted in classic Langhe soils of marl and limestone, which naturally emphasise aromatics, acidity and fine tannin rather than sheer power.

Marcarini is one of Barolo’s quietly respected traditional producers, with a history in La Morra dating back to the 19th century. The estate is known for its thoughtful, patient approach, favouring balance and longevity over extraction or excess oak. Lasarin is their more accessible Nebbiolo, made to show varietal purity and site character in a form that can be enjoyed younger, while still carrying the unmistakable signature of serious Nebbiolo.

In the glass, the wine is pale ruby with a lifted, expressive nose. Rose petal, dried cherry and wild strawberry lead, followed by notes of tar, orange peel and subtle spice. There is a delicate earthy undertone and a faint ironstone character that speaks clearly of the Langhe hills.

On the palate, Marcarini Lasarin Nebbiolo is medium bodied, taut and finely structured. Bright red fruit flavours sit within a framework of lively acidity and fine, grippy tannins that give shape and length without heaviness. The texture is classic and dry, finishing long and savoury with lingering notes of cherry skin, herbs and mineral nuance.

This is a Nebbiolo made for the table. It pairs beautifully with pasta dishes, risotto, roast meats, mushrooms or truffle driven cuisine. Drinking very well now with a little air, it will also continue to develop gracefully over five to eight years, gaining further savoury complexity.
