A deeply, coloured and beautifully balanced shiraz from the subregion of Greenock in the Barossa Valley. Blackberry, macerated plum and boysenberry fruits cut with hints of dark spice, licorice, earth, ironstone and dark chocolate. There is a slight broody element here, graphite and ironstone at the base, but it's a lovely thing with a full-bodied flow across the palate, tight, sandy tannins and a bright seam of acidity as the wine sails off into the distance.

Massena Single Vineyard Greenock Shiraz from the Barossa Valley is big, bold, and beautifully expressive—everything you want from top-shelf Barossa Shiraz, with a bit more detail and finesse than you might expect. The fruit comes from dry-grown old vines in Greenock, one of the western Barossa’s most prized subregions, where red clay and ironstone soils give serious structure and depth to the wine.
The Massena crew—Dan Standish and Jaysen Collins—have built a reputation for crafting rich, textured wines with loads of personality, always letting the vineyard do the talking. This single vineyard bottling is no exception. It’s fermented with wild yeasts, sees minimal intervention in the winery, and is aged in seasoned oak so the fruit can shine.
On the nose it’s bursting with dark plum, blackberry, baking spices, and violet, with earthy undertones and a flick of charry oak. The palate is full-bodied and plush, but not overblown—there’s structure, savoury drive, and a mineral edge that keeps it fresh. Tannins are ripe but firm, and the finish just keeps going.
It’s a natural match for grilled ribeye, smoky eggplant, beef brisket, or rich mushroom pie. Bold enough to stand up to hearty fare, but refined enough to sip on its own when you want something that speaks of place and power.
