Complex nose of sweet, dark violets, dried cherries and leafy lightness. A bit austere on both the nose and palate, with firm dusty tannins, crisp acidity, a full body and a thick, extracted finish reminiscent of violets and cherries. A powerful wine for the long haul. Best after 10 years.

Serragrilli is one of Barbaresco's most distinguished vineyard sites, renowned for producing Nebbiolo that combines perfume, elegance and remarkable ageing potential. Located in the commune of Neive, this historic cru benefits from excellent exposure and limestone rich soils that consistently deliver wines of finesse and complexity. Mura Mura has emerged as one of the region's most exciting producers, with a focus on sustainable viticulture and crafting wines that faithfully reflect their vineyard origins.
The outstanding 2021 vintage provided ideal conditions across Piedmont, producing fruit with exceptional concentration, freshness and aromatic detail. Sourced from the prized slopes of Serragrilli, this Barbaresco showcases the more refined and floral side of Nebbiolo while retaining the structure and depth expected from a great cru. Careful winemaking preserves purity and balance, allowing the vineyard's personality to shine through.
Bright garnet red in colour, the bouquet is captivating and complex, revealing aromas of rose petals, wild strawberry and red cherry layered with notes of violet, blood orange and sweet spice. As the wine evolves in the glass, hints of truffle, tobacco leaf, anise and forest floor emerge, adding depth and intrigue. The palate is silky and beautifully detailed, delivering vibrant red berry fruits, savoury nuances and mineral precision supported by fine tannins and lively acidity. The finish is long, elegant and persistent, carrying waves of floral perfume, spice and classic Nebbiolo character.
This is a superb partner for truffle risotto, braised veal, duck ragù, porcini mushroom dishes or aged Parmigiano Reggiano. While already highly expressive with careful decanting, it has the pedigree and balance to develop beautifully for decades.
