From 1998 planting of MV6 at Gladysdale, 30% whole bunches. Matured in 300L and 500L casks (less than 10% new). Awarded Best Pinot Noir at the 2022 Yarra Valley Wine Show. Exhibiting an array of spices including cardamon and nutmeg pods with red fruits and pomegranate, this floral, compact, medium-bodied and structured wine is precise and long.

Medium-full red-purple colour with a forest-floor aroma which combines fresh turned earth with dried-herb and bracken notes, coupled wth smoky/toasty oak. The wine is medium-bodied and has good intensity, the texture refined and svelte, with a pleasantly drying tannin follow-through. Oak is evident but nicely handled. 10 DEC 2022 Drink 2022–2029

Trophy & 96 Points Best Pinot Noir Yarra Valley Wine Show 2022
An allure of aromatics with fruits of the forest, red berry with a hint of pomegranate, a touch of Chinese five spice, earth and stem.
The palate has a great vibrancy of fruit flavour that is balanced perfectly with supple fruit tannins, raspberry and dark cherry flavours abound with a bright acid line in support and providing drive. Juicy, succulent and pure.
A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine – 85% whole berry fermentation with 15% whole bunch inclusion in open vessels for two weeks followed by a 10 month maturation in French oak barrels.
