Small batch vinification in open-top fermenters, hand plunged, 18 months' maturation in seasoned French oak barriques. Unfurls slowly, as nebbiolo can do so brilliantly, releasing lifted, generous aromatics. Rose petals, red licorice, pepper, cranberry, cherry and woodsmoke aromas mingle. Lovely balance on display in lifted fruit, savoury, earthy tannins and a long finish. Reveals assured confidence and poise with a grape that can be notoriously difficult to work with.
