Single-estate grenache from Light Pass given a dose of whole-bunch love in the ferment, opening the wine up, letting some light, funk and textural nuance play upon the wine. The fruit is ripe; in the damson plum sphere, with some blueberry and cranberry top notes, Asian spice, gingerbread, red licorice, graphite and black pepper. Airy and savoury with tight, sandy tannin, bright acidity and a lot of bunchy appeal.

In 1845, JG Scholz arrived in the Barossa and took up land now known as the Willows. G7 refers to seventh generation Scholz family who help create this spicy fruit driven Grenache blend. 80% Grenache and 20% Shiraz spend 12 months maturation in older French oak barrels.
