2021 Vincent Girardin Meursault Les Narvaux, Burgundy

Not yet racked, but will be shortly. A substantial cuvée, all sourced as grapes. Fuller yellow. A very complete bouquet, some density for the vintage, a fractional matchstick reduction, complexity of fruit in a stony style. Both a little more intensity and complexity than Tessons, with a lick of oak to finish and very persistent. Drink from 2025-2030. Tasted: October 2022.

A slightly riper and more floral nose is otherwise compositionally similar. There is an appealing sense of underlying tension to the punchy and even more mineral-driven flavors that offer fine length if only average depth, at least presently. Drink 2027+ (June 23)
