Mellow, herbal sauvignon blanc with green capsicum, sweet cut grass, gooseberry and struck flint/gunpowder characters. Quite a good result from a challenging vintage.21 OCT 2022 Drink 2022–2026

The Astrolabe Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is made from grapes grown across three Marlborough sub-regions — the Wairau Valley, the Awatere Valley and the Kekerengu Coast. This is a dry, expressive and elegantly balanced sauvignon blanc.
The colour is pale straw with green highlights. Lemon grass, lime peel and elderflower, with background notes of white currant and red pepper dominate the nose. A medium-bodied with white peach, gooseberry and citrus flavours dominating on a dry mineral finish.
Very good drinking now and will add complexity with a few years in the bottle.
Have it with fresh, leafy green salads, seafood of all types and dishes with lifted, aromatic herbs.
