Made with approximately 20% whole bunch including a portion of carbonic maceration and matured in French hogsheads and puncheons (10% new). A medium-bodied, fragrant and elegant wine that opens up with red and black fruits, floral notes, pink peppercorns and blood orange. On the palate, this has real grip, intensity and persistence, and this will totally reward those who still have some in their cellar a decade from now.

The Bannockburn Shiraz is crafted from estate-grown fruit, primarily sourced from the south-facing Winery Block, planted in 1990, and some declassified De La Roche, planted in 2007. The soils are mainly volcanic scoria over basalt, clay, and loam with a limestone clay base. The 2019 vintage was wild fermented with just 10% whole bunches and spent two weeks on skins before being pressed, settled, and racked to French oak puncheons (10% new) for 13 months of élevage. The result is a wine that showcases the inherent savoury qualities of the mature Winery Block, with a bright impression of fruit purity.

On the nose, the Bannockburn Shiraz offers aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and spice, which follow through to the palate. The wine is medium-bodied with soft tannins and a medium length, making it a versatile choice for various dining experiences.
