Gold Medal Royal Sydney Wine Show August 2023 95 points
Light-mid yellow, bright and clear with a tint of green. Very fresh, vibrant citrusy aromas with a trace of smoky struck-flint reduction, happily restrained. The wine is tremendously intense in the mouth, concentrated and powerful, with scintillating vitality thanks to its acidity and brightness of fruit. Gorgeous lemon juice, grapefruit pith, citron and subtle chamomile aromas. It has outstanding line and length, refinement allied with intensity, fruit leading the charge and any artifact characters well in the background. It appears to have great potential for development with time. A stunning chardonnay. 01 JUN 2023 Drink 2023–2034

#4 of 83 2022 Chardonnay from Victoria
Hand-picked fruit, whole-bunch pressed, wild-yeast fermented and matured for 10 months in French puncheons (4% new). The bouquet has the carefully calibrated touch of funk used in some (though not all) of its chardonnays, translating to green grapefruit zest/pith/juice as a background for the white peach and cashew.
Perfect green tinted colour and a sure sign of careful fruit and oak management. Aromas of grapefruit and white stonefruits with lifted toasted cashew notes from the French oak. Grapefruit pith and white nectarine carry through for a long, balanced finish. A fine textured palate with bright citrus acidity. One of the best Indigo Vineyard Chardonnays.
