Clos Roussely Le Clos Sauvignon Blanc is a beautifully expressive, small scale wine that shows a more textured, terroir driven side of Sauvignon from the Touraine in the Loire Valley. The vineyard known simply as Le Clos sits on classic limestone and clay soils, a mix that gives both tension and depth. This part of the Loire enjoys a cool continental climate, allowing Sauvignon Blanc to ripen slowly while retaining freshness and aromatic precision.

Clos Roussely is run by Arnaud and Michelle Roussely, who farm with a strong focus on sustainability and respect for site. Their wines are deliberately low intervention, shaped more by vineyard and vintage than by cellar technique. Le Clos is treated as a true single vineyard wine, with careful picking and gentle handling to preserve purity while allowing texture and complexity to build naturally.

In the glass, the wine is aromatic but refined. Citrus zest, white peach and green apple lead, followed by notes of gooseberry, crushed herbs and subtle white flowers. There is a distinct chalky note running through the aromatics, giving the wine clarity and a sense of place rather than overt pungency.

On the palate, Clos Roussely Le Clos Sauvignon Blanc is dry, focused and quietly layered. Bright acidity carries citrus and orchard fruit flavours through a finely textured mid palate. The wine has more weight and grip than simple Sauvignon, with a gentle phenolic edge and mineral drive that add interest and length. The finish is clean, dry and persistent, lingering with citrus peel and wet stone.
