2022 COS Pithos Rosso Nero d'Avola Frappato, Sicily

Very bright and clean aromas, an explosion of juicy bright raspberry and red plum fruit. Very fine tannins, great intensity and a fresh acidity to finish. Nero d'Avola (60%) & Frappato(40%). 

Founded by three friends, Giambattista Cilia, Cirino Strano and Giusto Occhipinti, in 1980, today COS is one of Sicily’s most innovative and exciting wineries. The original winery dates back to the 1880s when Sicilian wines were in high demand due to the devastation caused by the Phylloxera pest throughout Europe’s main wine regions. COS has sought to revive Sicily’s reputation as a producer of excellent artisanal wines made from local grape varieties. The estate has been practising biodynamic agriculture since 2000 and was certified as organic in 2007.
