Dolce & Gabbana e Donnafugata Isolano Bianco is a luminous, volcanic white wine from the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, crafted in collaboration between the iconic fashion house and one of Italy’s most expressive wine producers. Made predominantly from Carricante, the noble white grape of Etna, with a touch of native Minnella, this wine comes from high-altitude vineyards on the southern and eastern flanks of the volcano, where ancient lava soils and cool mountain air shape a wine of precision, minerality and Mediterranean warmth.
The grapes are hand harvested and fermented in stainless steel, with a portion aged in second- and third-use French oak for complexity and texture. The result is a wine that balances freshness with softness, offering both aromatic lift and palate weight without ever losing its volcanic edge.
The nose opens with lemon peel, white peach, almond blossom, wild herbs and a flinty mineral note. The palate is dry and elegant, showing layers of citrus, green melon, saline minerality and a faint smoky nuance from the volcanic soils. There's a fine, chalky texture and a long, savoury finish that reflects both the altitude and the basalt-rich terroir of Etna.
Food pairing: perfect with grilled swordfish, seafood linguine, Sicilian arancini, or lemon and herb roast chicken. Also excellent with burrata, caponata or pasta with pistachio pesto.
Cellar potential: drinking beautifully now, but will age gracefully for 5 to 7 years, developing more savoury, nutty complexity and depth.
