The 2022 Savigny-lès-Beaune Blanc has a well-defined nose with scents of dried honey, grapefruit and touches of mango, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is well-balanced with a keen thread of acidity. There’s plenty of orchard fruit, Clementine and mango, with a slightly resinous texture towards the finish. Excellent weight and depth for its class; this is a thoroughbred Savigny Blanc. Drink: 2025 - 2035.

91-93 points Neal Martin for Vinous Nov 2023

For generations, Domaine Jean-Marc Pavelot has been one of Savigny-lès-Beaune's most respected family estates, crafting authentic Burgundies that faithfully reflect the character of their vineyards. While the domaine is best known for Pinot Noir, its small production of Chardonnay is equally impressive, offering a beautifully understated expression of white Burgundy shaped by limestone soils and traditional winemaking.

The 2022 vintage delivered fruit of exceptional balance, with warm growing conditions producing generous flavour while retaining freshness and mineral precision. Careful barrel maturation adds texture and complexity without overshadowing the purity of the fruit or the distinctive character of Savigny-lès-Beaune.

Pale gold with bright straw highlights, the bouquet opens with aromas of lemon zest, ripe pear and white peach, complemented by white blossom, toasted almond and delicate flinty notes. The palate is beautifully textured, combining vibrant citrus and orchard fruit with fine acidity, subtle creaminess and a chalky mineral thread. Elegant and beautifully balanced, the finish is long, fresh and lingers with saline minerality and gentle oak spice.

An excellent partner for roast chicken, grilled lobster, scallops, creamy mushroom risotto or aged Comté. Delicious now for its freshness and finesse, this quietly impressive white Burgundy will continue to develop beautifully over the coming years.

Cellaring: Drink now to 2032.
