Half Bottle 375ml
The Cotes Du Rhone is smoking good, offering up blackberries, pepper, and garrigue in a round, supple, medium to full-bodied style. Based on 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, and 10% Mourvèdre, partially aged in oak foudres, this impressive effort shows remarkable quality for the appellation.

E. Guigal Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge is one of the most dependable and over-delivering reds in the Rhône Valley, a benchmark bottling crafted by one of France’s most iconic family producers. Based in Ampuis, at the northern tip of the Rhône Valley, the Guigal family has built a reputation for excellence across all tiers—from humble appellation wines to the legendary single-vineyard Côte-Rôties.
This Côtes-du-Rhône is predominantly Syrah (a rarity for this appellation, which tends to favour Grenache), supported by Grenache and Mourvèdre. It shows an impressive concentration and complexity for its price point. Expect deep aromas of dark berries, violets, cracked pepper and cured meats. On the palate, it’s velvety and generous, with ripe blackberry fruit, black olive, spice and a savoury, earthy finish.
The Syrah-driven style brings a touch of the north into the southern Rhône, offering structure and freshness with depth and balance. Guigal’s meticulous selection and long ageing in large oak foudres (typically around 18 months) give this wine polish and approachability.
Perfect with grilled lamb, roast duck, ratatouille or a rustic mushroom tart.
