Glass staining deep, bright purple-red colour; licorice, graphite, blackberry aromas, intense, bright and bold; the palate is richly concentrated and very powerful, ample and plush with concentrated deep-set black fruits and a massive core of sweet ripe fruit, encased in a shell of supple but drying tannins that restore the balance into a long lingering aftertaste. Eisenstone Greenock Vineyard Shiraz from the Barossa Valley is a bold and meticulously crafted wine that showcases the region's celebrated terroir. Founded by Stephen Cook, Eisenstone is a boutique winery dedicated to producing premium single-vineyard Shiraz wines that highlight the diversity and quality of Barossa Valley sub-regions. The Greenock Vineyard, nestled in the western Barossa, is renowned for its deep red soils and ideal climate, creating Shiraz with intense flavors and exceptional structure.

The Greenock Vineyard Shiraz is a testament to the winemaker’s commitment to low-intervention techniques and a focus on vineyard expression. The vines, carefully tended throughout the growing season, produce small yields of highly concentrated fruit. Grapes are harvested at peak ripeness, ensuring vibrant aromas and flavors.

In the winery, Stephen Cook employs a hands-on approach, fermenting the wine in small open-top fermenters to extract maximum color and tannin. The wine is then matured in French oak barrels, 50% new, for 18 months, which enhances its depth and complexity without overshadowing the fruit.

In the glass, Eisenstone Greenock Vineyard Shiraz boasts a deep purple color. The nose is an enticing blend of blackberry, plum, and black cherry, layered with hints of dark chocolate, licorice, and subtle oak spice. The palate is rich and full-bodied, delivering concentrated black fruit flavors supported by velvety tannins and a touch of peppery spice. The finish is long and seamless, making it a standout wine for cellaring or pairing with dishes like slow-cooked lamb shanks, barbecued ribs, or aged cheddar.
