70% MV6, 30% 667 clones hand-picked from six Yarra Valley sites.
10% whole bunches, wild fermented in numerous small batches. MLF and eight months‘ maturation in French oak (14% new) prior to bottling.
Raspberry, strawberry, mint and spice. This is light in body, and kind of frisky, but it delivers plenty of pinot flavour, light peppery and pumice stone grip, lively and juicy, with a spicy red fruited finish of excellent length. Beautifully made and lovely to drink. I recommend it.

Fetherston Fungi Pinot Noir from Yarra Valley is a nuanced and earthy Pinot Noir crafted with great care by winemakers Chris Lawrence and Cam Marshall, known for their commitment to small-batch, terroir-driven wines. The Yarra Valley, with its cool climate and rich soils, provides ideal growing conditions for Pinot Noir, allowing the grapes to develop complex flavors and balanced acidity. The Fungi label reflects Fetherston’s close connection to nature and a winemaking approach that emphasizes the unique character of each vintage.
On the nose, Fungi Pinot Noir offers an aromatic blend of red cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry, accompanied by earthy notes of forest floor, mushroom, and a hint of dried herbs. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, with flavors of juicy red fruit, subtle spice, and a touch of minerality. Fine tannins and fresh acidity add to the wine’s elegance, leading to a long, smooth finish that showcases its earthy complexity.
This Pinot Noir pairs wonderfully with mushroom dishes, game meats, grilled salmon, and soft cheeses, making it a versatile and food-friendly wine. Its structure and balance also allow it to age gracefully, promising even greater depth over time.
