A selection of older riesling material from the Gaelic Cemetery site that shows more concentration of flavour without sacrificing any of the characteristic Clare Valley drive. Lime, lemon, green apple and perhaps a yellow fruit note, maybe plum, to my nose. There is a real pithy intensity on the palate with a hint of slinky, chalky texture, some citrus blossom top notes and the distinct feeling that there is some serious latent power simmering away under the pretty exterior.

This premium riesling is nothing short of world class. Unmistakable citrus, salinity and even a slight chalkiness characterise the palate. The acidity is great, but supremely well balanced.
The appearance is very pale green with vibrant youthful hues. Aromatically, fresh green limes typical of this block come to the fore with subtle floral notes. The palate is quite pure and elegant built around salivating acidity with lemon drop and finger lime flavours. The balance between the acidity, texture and flavour profile is impeccable, powerful in flavour yet elegant in style. Although this wine can be enjoyed in its youth long term cellaring will reward those that wait.
