2022 Heirloom Shiraz, McLaren Vale

From the neighbouring McMurtrie Family Vineyard, adjacent to the Salopian Inn, and matured predominantly in seasoned French and Bulgarian oak barriques, though some new, for 16 months. A wine that navigates tradition and evolution with aplomb, this is from older, low-yielding vines. And that sense of maturity is apparent, with both depth and balance, giving intense but savoury red fruits, hardy, sun-kissed herbs and a dry-earth ruggedness. A silkiness precedes a long and fine tannic draw.
