The 2022 Henry's Seven leads with a vibrant core of raspberry seed and bramble, five spice and blood plum skin. In the mouth, the fruit is supple and spicy and expounds a brilliant clarity of tannin. Ductile, whippy and delicious, it has raspberry leaf tea and rose petals to close. There are also notes of pink peppercorns, as per usual. This is a gorgeous wine. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

A southern Rhone blend, infused with a dollop of viognier. Scents of purple pastille, raspberry bon-bon, rose water and eucalyptus, quintessentially Australian. The tannins, finely wrought. The oak, embedded nicely. This is a large-framed wine of impressive freshness, if not a slightly drying finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Rich purple tones in the glass. Mulberry, bruised plum, anise and black pepper aromas. Dark fruits on entry then a musk and white pepper spice line fills in adding loads of character and interest. This shiraz, grenache, mataro, viognier blend is a tribute to Henry Evans who planted the first vineyard of seven acres at Keyneton in 1853. He quickly developed a reputation for producing the best wines in the southern colony. Following Henry’s death in 1868, his widow Sarah exercised her temperance convictions by closing the winery and uprooting all the wine grapes. This blend highlights the historical introduction of southern French and Spanish varieties to South Australia in those early pioneering days and reflects the history, religion and culture of the Barossa.
Deep ruby with violet hues. Lifted raspberry, red currant, mulberry and Satsuma plum, with floral notes of violets, lavender, crushed flowering herbs and anise, pepper and mace spice. A rich and intense palate of well defined, concentrated red fruits; red currant, cut plum and spicy wild berries, give way to crunchy mid palate, firm-edged velvety tannins and excellent length.
