This is compelling value from an old-school hero variety. It's the right balance of juicy and savoury, with black cherries, blackberry, spiced plum, white pepper, leather, anise, rocky iron notes and hardy herbs, the palate silky, underwritten by finely tuned tannins, guiding but not interrupting the flow. Very nice indeed.

Hither & Yon Shiraz from McLaren Vale is a bold yet beautifully balanced red that showcases the region’s signature richness with a fresh, modern edge. Crafted with a sustainable ethos and a light winemaking hand, this Shiraz delivers all the dark fruit, spice, and plush tannins you’d expect from McLaren Vale—wrapped in a vibrant, food-friendly style that speaks to both place and personality.
Run by brothers Richard and Malcolm Leask, Hither & Yon is a certified carbon-neutral winery with a deep commitment to regenerative farming and organic viticulture. Their Shiraz is sourced from select parcels across the Vale, where ancient soils and maritime breezes shape fruit with depth, concentration, and natural balance.
The winemaking is minimal intervention—fermented in small batches with indigenous yeasts and matured in seasoned French oak to add texture without overpowering the fruit. The result is a wine that’s generous but not heavy, structured but easygoing.
In the glass, it offers aromas of blackberry, plum, cracked pepper, and subtle mocha, with earthy undertones and a hint of dried herbs. The palate is full and smooth, with ripe black fruit, spice-laced tannins, and a long, savoury finish that leaves a lasting impression.
This is Shiraz for every table—equally at home with slow-cooked meats, grilled veggies, or a casual night in. Stylish, soulful, and unmistakably McLaren Vale.
