Jo Landron Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Amphibolite from the Loire Valley is a vibrant, ultra-fresh expression of Melon de Bourgogne, grown on unique metamorphic soils that give this wine its name and unmistakable mineral snap. This is Landron in his most playful and precise form—delivering a wine that’s all about energy, purity, and the bracing Atlantic character of Muscadet at its best.

The Amphibolite cuvée is named after the distinctive amphibolite rock found in the vineyards around La Haye-Fouassière, where Jo Landron farms organically and biodynamically. These soils, derived from ancient seabeds, lend a signature mineral drive and crystalline salinity to the wine. The vines are farmed without synthetic inputs, hand-harvested, and treated with utmost care to preserve freshness and terroir expression.

In the cellar, fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts, and the wine sees a short period of lees aging in underground glass-lined tanks. Unlike some of Landron’s more structured cuvées, Amphibolite is bottled young to capture the purest expression of fruit and stone—no oak, no excess, just clarity and lift.

In the glass, it’s all lime zest, green apple, fresh herbs, and sea spray. The palate is laser-focused, zippy, and mouthwatering, with bright acidity and a mineral crunch that makes it the ultimate oyster wine.
