Semi-sweet low alcohol style with lifted, floral citrus aromas
Czech migrant Josef Chromy established his namesake winery in 2007. Today, the brand and its significant 61-hectare vineyard holdings are jointly owned by the Endeavour Group and Warakirri Asset Management. Chief winemaker Yael Sandler joined the team in 2016 and is today guiding the winery with viticulturist Kellie Graham as her counterpart in the vineyards.
This semi-sweet Riesling was cool-fermented in stainless steel and settled and matured for several months on lees before fining, stabilisation and light filtering ahead of bottling July 2022.
Its wonderfully aromatic with lifted floral citrus aromas that spill into the palate that shows weight and texture while remaining lacy in texture. With 60 grams residual sugar and low 7.5% alc./vol, this would make for an excellent, sweeter afternoon aperitif.
