Kurtz Boundary Row Shiraz from the Barossa Valley is a bold and deeply flavoured red that captures the richness and generosity of this iconic South Australian region. The Boundary Row vineyard lies on the western side of the valley floor, where ancient soils and warm days produce low-yielding vines with intensely concentrated fruit.
Winemaker Steve Kurtz takes a traditional approach to Barossa Shiraz, favouring small-batch fermentation, open-top fermenters and maturation in a mix of French and American oak. The result is a wine that balances power and plushness with structure and spice.
Expect an opulent nose of blackberry, plum, dark chocolate and sweet vanilla, with layers of spice, mocha and toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied and mouthfilling, showing ripe dark fruit, velvety tannins and a lingering finish that’s both smooth and satisfying.
A perfect partner for barbecue ribs, roast beef, chargrilled eggplant or aged cheddar. While drinking well now with a decant, it will cellar comfortably for 8 to 12 years.
